What we collect and why

We use your login email and account identifier to authenticate you and save your cards. We store the business details, links, logos and designs you choose to publish. Your card is publicly accessible to anyone with its link, and may be indexed or copied. Only publish information you have permission to share.

We record card views, QR and NFC opens, sharing and contact-save actions to provide activity counts. These counts describe actions, not identified visitors. Network addresses may be processed by hosting providers for delivery and security. Jazazah uses daily hashed network identifiers to rate-limit abuse.

Safety screening

Before public card text or an uploaded logo is saved, we send that content to OpenAI’s moderation service to detect prohibited or unsafe material. Contact details such as your login email and phone number are not included in text screening. Content that is flagged is not published. Provider security and abuse-monitoring retention may apply.

Contact exchange

When you choose to share your contact details, we store your submission and provide it to the card owner. The owner may contact you for the purpose you agreed to. Do not use collected contacts for unsolicited marketing.

Optional business-card scanning and AI branding

When you choose Scan business card, Jazazah extracts contact information and prepares optional design suggestions. In the iPhone app, Apple’s on-device text recognition reads the image and only the recognized text is sent to OpenAI to organize the fields and generate design options; the original photo is not uploaded by Jazazah. In a web browser, the selected image is sent temporarily to OpenAI for the same purpose and is not saved by Jazazah. Always review extracted details before publishing. Requests use store:false; this does not eliminate a provider’s separate security or abuse-monitoring retention.

With your explicit permission, the brand links or design description you select are sent to OpenAI to generate design options. Link-based requests may research public branding; description-based requests use your instructions without researching external sources. You can create and edit cards without scanning or AI.

Service providers and international processing

We use Supabase for authentication, SendGrid for login emails, OpenAI for safety screening and optional AI features, Sites hosting, and Cloudflare infrastructure for card data and uploaded files. These providers may process data outside your country. We do not sell your data or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.

Device permissions and widgets

Camera access is requested only when you choose to photograph a physical business card. You choose individual images from Photos without giving Jazazah access to your whole photo library. Saving a contact uses the iOS contact editor and does not require access to your full address book. A QR widget stores a copy of your chosen card on your device for display. Signing out clears that shared copy and requests a widget refresh; iOS controls refresh timing.

Retention and deletion

Cards and collected leads remain while the account is active. Account deletion removes active card records, leads, logos and the authentication account. A minimal account identifier may remain to prevent an incomplete deletion from restoring access. Security counters are cleaned up after their limit window; long-term upload allowances and restriction identifiers remain until cleared; provider logs and backups follow their own retention schedules. Deletion cannot remove copies saved by recipients or cached by third parties.

Your choices and requests

Edit your card at any time. Use Account → Delete account when available, or request deletion through Support. Use Support for access, correction, removal of submitted contact information or privacy questions. We may verify identity before acting on a request.
